Hi ,
hull for the Panther I now have a new generation of transmissions under construction.
This will be extra small and the way I drive it for some time in my Jagdpanther and can also be completely closed which minimizes the wear and improves lubrication significantly .
The basic structure of the transmission as inserted into the tub block has proved invaluable and I keep on , only the individual gears are significantly narrower .
Here a part of the gears already processed before and after brazing to the axis . In addition I have also applied a new technique which allows me to clean the soldering such narrow constructions with hard solder.
Then Lastly for today, I was able to begin editing the flywheels.

Re: New generation transmission
Since the turn of the weights sooo much chips and dirt makes, I have on the workbench done nothing else for the same times and a few more.
For this, I am just going to concern myself with the transmission covers. I have now drawn times.
And when I get home today they are printed.

Re: New generation transmission
Today, I have made ready first , the inertial masses .
A lot of chips have been created there, but now four sets of two inertial variants have emerged.
The assembly of the transmission can go so again on.
The first covers are now printed and ready and I could try them out.
And so it looks in the lower hull .
But I will still improve a little the covers , although they were so already usable, but a little better is always because of the larger lid is not properly adhered to . The smaller fits on the other hand already just as I imagine it . So this should then simply pushed to the gearbox , hold without screws or other clamps and be removable again when needed for maintenance and lubrication.

Re: New generation transmission
Today, the drive has become ready, but for that I had to build a lot.
First off, the drive axles from 8mm silver steel. I've got the same times a few more done , since I need anyway.
So I could also build all the gears in this transmission into the case , it was necessary turn off the axes at a point 0.85 mm. Since the axes are guided to the outside but through two ball bearings , there is no risk , therefore, to have a weak point.
The drive gear I have again brazed to the axes .

The housing cover must be milled out some files for the gears .
It is mounted with M1 , 6 steel screws. Here I cut just the thread through the side walls of pan and transmission , which is not so easy.
Before the cover is mounted and glued on , I fill everything with graphite grease . So the transmission is maintenance-free for life.
I also add sufficient grease on gears and closing it with the printed cover
After I have mounted the drive wheels and tracks was a first test drive nothing in the way .
And of course a little video .
A few small adjustments , and even the Panther tank can to their new owners
